Acupuncture activates the body’s healing response and restores balance to all levels of body systems. A cornerstone of medicine for thousands of years (since approx. 100 B.C.E.). During acupuncture, practitioners insert very thin disposable needles at carefully selected points throughout the body. The selected “points” facilitate a response in one’s Qi, or vital energy-life force. Acupuncturists select the location(s) and the technique of insertion, based on diagnoses processes including feeling the pulse, observing the tongue, listening, smelling and palpation. Depending on the complexity, severity and length of the condition, multiple treatments may be required. Issues commonly addressed include and are not limited to:
- Back/Neck/Muscular-Skeletal/Orthopedic Pain
- PMS, Dysmenorrhea, Amenorrhea
- Menopause Symptoms
- Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia
- Common Cold and Flu
- Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders
